CONSTRUCTION CLIENTS SERVED
500M+
IN ACTIVE CLIENT REVENUES
Apparatus Contractor Services works exclusively with U.S. construction companies between $2M and $50M+ in annual revenue. We serve three segments: The Emerging Company™ ($2M–$8M, served on the Gold tier), The Scaling Business™ ($6M–$25M, served on the Platinum tier), and The Expanding Enterprise™ ($20M–$50M+, served on the Platinum X tier). Within those, we work with custom homebuilders, spec and production builders, design-build remodelers, commercial general contractors, multi-family developers, and specialty trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, roofing, concrete, framing).
At Apparatus, we work exclusively with ambitious U.S.-based construction entrepreneurs who are ready to lead, scale, and transform their companies into high-performance operations.
Whether you’re building custom or spec homes, managing large-scale developments, running a commercial general contracting operation, leading a high-end remodeling firm, or operating a specialty trade, our clients have one thing in common: they’re serious about growth, and they know financial clarity is the foundation.
We serve residential and commercial builders, remodelers, developers, and specialty contractors across the United States — from $2M emerging companies to $50M+ expanding enterprises.

We Specialize in Three Types of Construction Entrepreneurs — Mapped to Our Gold, Platinum, and Platinum X Service Tiers:

THE EMERGING COMPANY™ — Served on the Gold Tier
$2M–$8M Revenue
Growing fast, needs structure
You’ve got momentum, but your financials are messy, your job costs are fuzzy, and you’re tired of guessing. You need systems that can keep up with your growth—and a team that knows construction.
We bring: structure, reliable project-level job costing, GAAP-compliant revenue recognition, and a financial system built on QuickBooks® Online and Buildertrend®, JobTread®, or Procore® — plus CFO insights to help you lead with data.

THE SCALING BUSINESS™ — Served on the Platinum Tier
$6M–$25M Revenue
Building teams, needs systemization
Your company is gaining traction. You’ve outgrown DIY books and need integrated systems across QBO or Intuit Enterprise Suite, CMS, and payroll. You’re ready to delegate financial oversight — but not visibility.
We deliver:: GAAP-compliant reporting (Completed Contract, Percentage of Completion, or APB/WIPRA), AIA G702/G703 progress invoicing, retainage tracking, lien waiver administration, automated workflows, project profitability analysis, and strategic advisory to help you grow with control..

THE EXPANDING ENTERPRISE™ — Served on the Platinum X Tier
$20M–$50M+ Revenue
Scaling hard, needs strategic leadership
You’re scaling across regions or divisions, operating multiple entities, and need a financial architecture that can handle real complexity. You want a team that brings more than reports—you want a partner in growth.
We provide: enterprise-level QuickBooks® Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite architecture, intercompany transaction frameworks, joint venture accounting, reporting, multi-entity support, board-ready custom dashboards, and CFO-level strategic guidance.
The Construction Companies We Work With
Custom Homebuilders
Owner-occupied custom home construction, typically $2M–$15M in revenue with 5–30 active projects at any given time. Project durations of 12–18 months are common. The defining financial requirement is reliable project-level job costing across labor, materials, subcontractor commitments, and change orders — plus the revenue recognition method (typically Completed Contract or Percentage of Completion) that fits your contract structure. Most custom homebuilders we serve operate on Buildertrend® or JobTread®.
Spec and Production Builders
Speculative home construction and production homebuilding, typically $5M–$50M+ in revenue. Build-sell cycles, lot acquisition costs, financing structures (construction loans, lines of credit, equity stacks), and inventory accounting all matter more than in custom work. Revenue recognition is most often Completed Contract for tax purposes, with separate management reporting at the project level. WIP and lot-cost tracking are standard.
Design-Build Remodelers
High-end residential remodeling and design-build firms, typically $2M–$15M in revenue. Tight cost discipline, selection management integration, change-order velocity, and the financial-system–to–CMS sync are the defining concerns. The Buildertrend® and JobTread® integrations we operate are particularly well-fit to this segment because their selection and change-order workflows map cleanly into project-level financial reporting.
Multi-Family and
Development Companies
Multi-family construction firms and real estate developers, typically $10M–$50M+ in revenue with multi-entity structures (operating entity, development entity, real-estate holding entity, joint ventures). Intercompany transactions, consolidated reporting, capital stack tracking, and entity-level profitability are foundational. This is the segment most likely to operate on Intuit Enterprise Suite rather than QuickBooks® Online, and the segment for which our Platinum X tier is most often the right fit.
Specialty Trades
Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, roofing, concrete, framing, and other specialty trade contractors, typically $2M–$20M in revenue. Service work and project work often run in parallel and require different financial treatment. Prevailing wage compliance, union reporting where applicable, and labor-allocation discipline (direct vs. indirect, productive vs. non-productive) are the defining requirements. Job costing for specialty trades looks different from GC job costing — the cost objects are crews and trucks, not just projects.
Commercial General Contractors
Commercial GCs across office, retail, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, and institutional sectors, typically $6M–$50M+ in revenue. AIA G702/G703 progress invoicing, retainage receivable and payable, certified payroll where applicable, subcontractor compliance (insurance certificates, workers’ comp, lien waivers), and bonding-ready WIP reporting are standard parts of the engagement. Revenue recognition is typically Percentage of Completion. Procore® is the most common CMS.
